Eligibility criteria

The applicant must be a PhD student for at least 2 years or a postdoctoral fellow for not more than 1 year. Each university faculty/department or research institute can only submit one application. If EURASEM receives 2 applications from the same university faculty/department or research institute, only the first application received will be taken into consideration (if eligible) and a letter will notify other candidates that unfortunately they are not eligible. Hopefully, each department will coordinate the submission.

The applicant must have his/her original work approved for oral presentation in ICEM21 and has completed his registration for the conference as “Student Delegate”.

Applicants should submit by April 01, 2025:

An updated Curriculum Vitae and a recommendation letter from their advisor/supervisor.

Proof of active registration at a university.

A description of their research work (maximum 5 pages), highlighting the scientific challenges, methodology, and innovative aspects related to experimental mechanics.

Selection criteria

All eligible applications will be reviewed by the Awards Committee, chaired by the Chairman of the EuraSEM Award Committee. From the final ranking, the top ten applications from different countries will be selected for the award.

Award

For the 10 award winners, the full value of the early-bird registration fee will be reimbursed by EURASEM. Additionally, accommodation expenses will be reimbursed up to a maximum of 200€.
